Start with the shirt

The shirt does the work, so let it. A distressed maple leaf, a vintage Canada wordmark, an EST 1867 badge, anything that reads Canadian from across a backyard. Red on a light tee is the classic, but a cream design on navy reads just as well if you would rather not go full firetruck. Build the rest of the outfit plain around it: denim shorts, white sneakers, done.
